Final Decision

Hi,

I'd like some help in picking my final school. Here are the choices I've narrowed it down to:

Wellesley College (my parents have to pay just under $17,000 per year; the financial aid package also includes a $2000 loan)

Stony Brook University (full ride, inc. room and board); Women in Science and Engineering Program

Macaulay Honors at Hunter College (I'm not sure if you have heard of this program - its a special honors program for students in NYC, they also have $7500 in funds for each student to study abroad, intern, or use for a test prep class. Tuition is free for four years and dorming is free for three).

I'm also on the waitlists of Columbia, UPenn, and Harvard, but I am really not expecting anything to happen.

Some info about me:
I absolutely love history and literature. I am considering a career in law, journalism, International Relations, or medicine.

I love the city and I was also looking forward to a traditional, cohesive campus culture, but I am willing to make sacrifices.

I really like Wellesley but going to Stony for free or Macaulay Hunter are great opportunities as well.

My concern is that Wellesley has a very awesome alumnae network, and thus resources and opportunities that Macaulay or Stony may not have.

Any input is appreciated.

Wellesley…

Wellesley is so great if you can possibly afford it. And the alum network is something to consider. Push on the waitlists, though. Things do happen.

So you think I should let go of the full rides?

How should I push on the waitlists? Columbia said they didn’t want any recimmendations.
