OK, @bfahopeful said I should start it, so here it is. Hope to see it fill up soon. Good Luck!
My D is thrilled to have committed to Elon for BFA MT. (Her parents are super excited too. ) It was her first audition back in November. Can’t wait to see who else will be in her future family! Best of luck and congrats to all in this crazy process!
Welcome to North Carolina and CONGRATULATIONS, @FourFoxes!
Flying out for our Elon audition tomorrow! Any tips? So excited…it will provide a good respite from the anxiety of waiting for decisions. So close to finishing our auditions…Elon 3/3 and Millikin 3/24.
In case there people who have not read previous year’s version - these are the general things discussed in this thread.

Where are flying from to go to Millikin?
Thank you GSOMT Mom!! I’m not sure how to edit my original post on my phone and not comfortable putting so much info online of her personal journey. She’s never had a coach, other than her regular voice and acting teachers. No extra dance other than regular classes. She did do a two week summer intensive at a top 10 program between jr and sr years. She cancelled all of her other scheduled auditions once she was invited to join the program before Christmas.
ALS0830, best wishes at Elon! No tips other than just be true to yourself - I truly think programs are able to see who is a good fit, artistically and personality wise. It’s a long day - but it was well run so bring food, drink, and something to keep yourself occupied. BREAK A LEG! Maybe my daughter will see you back there in August!
@fourfoxes congratulations and what a great way to find her path! I know a freshman boy at Elon who loves it there!!
How about a list with final decisions by college name only AND a separate list with all the summaries and decisions. I find I look back to try to find out where the poster ended up going and have to scroll through a lot of pages to find the info. Congrats to everyone making their final decisions! Elon’s campus is beautiful! Congrats to you all FourFoxes!
Wrong thread… oops.
Congrats to you, FourFoxes!
@FourFoxes Congrats your D hit the jackpot we loved that school and would be over the moon if accepted! Good luck your so lucky to be done and off the crazy train!

My D was very new to the MT world, and started her freshmen year. She has a music background and got into theatre that way, but found that it had become her passion. We are a budget family, and felt that if she had hard work and determination she would be able to succeed. (aka no summer programs and no coaches! Just used her local resources–vocal teacher and mentors from school. No dance training either!) She prepared the summer by doing the grunt work of college essays and finding rep, and submitted everything by Oct 15. After that, she just practiced and had her first audition in mid January and finished at Chi unifieds. Happy with the results. BAL everybody! Go bombers!
A-MAZ-ING results, @hcarts99! Congrats!

My D was also new to the MT world and started sophomore year! She has a music background as well and performs in a vocal ensemble. She has taken dance since 3 years old and is currently on a competitive dance team as well as her school dance squad. We began our first audition in January and ended with two in mid March.
We never did unifieds, instead we traveled to most schools or satellite locations. She is very happy with her results thus far. It was hard getting 5 no’s in a row before 2 yeses! Best of Luck to those on waiting lists and those waiting to hear!
@owensfolks Thank you! It’s been a journey…a long, exhausting one…but we are very pleased with the outcome and look forward to her college adventures.
And she danced… My Daughter started out in classical ballet from the time she was 2 she loved to dance and sing on her tippy toes spinning all the way thru 9th grade. We live in a small town blue ribbon public school in New England. Our town is know for good grades and sports I may add not one kid has gone for a BFA in MT. In 8th grade my D was cast as the lead in a musical and from that day on she wanted to perform she did a ton of choirs both in school and out of school. Really had limited vocal instruction just from 16-17. She went to high school and quit dance to join the school theater club. Later discovering a regional theater company and got more into Musical theater. Last summer she did a pre-college and decided this was it. We hired a national coach because every college we visited I would ask the MT kids and they all pointed that they used one BEST DECISION EVER!!!

Final Decision with tears in my eye…ITHACA!!!
They all land where they should it was one year ago that we toured the campus (Prince died on that day) and we both felt at home. I really have been humbled thru this journey and would not change a thing about the audition process. I got super close to my daughter the unified were a blast in Chicago we got to see Hamilton!!! We traveled 7 states in this process for auditions and loved meeting all the MT kids and parents.
We wish everyone finds their home these kids are amazing!! Go class of 2021!!! Thank you CC I will miss you but I too need to move on.
@rpmjsmom you forgot to post the final decision LOL!
