I hope that all of you who attended the Senior Showcase enjoyed it, I know I did. And for those of you who are still trying to decide between schools I’m open to any questions that you may have about BW and I will give you my honest opinion. My email is ttry@bw.edu or you can PM me here.

Hey I was Accepted to B-W for MT and Chicago College of the Performing Arts for MT. I love both schools so I'm having a terrible time trying to decide.
What things do you dislike about B-W MT program, and what made you decide to go to B-W?
Also I LOVE Chicago but I don't know if CCPA's program is as successful as B-W.
ANY information you could give me would be greatly appreciated!!!
THANK YOU
Maggie

I'm from Chicago, so I can definatly help you out here. In my opinion BW is the better program. Yet I have friends at CCPA and they love it. One major difference between the two programs is location. CCPA is in downtown Chicago, an amazing city to live in and great theatre all around you. BW is located around 15 minutes outside of Cleveland, yet it is still hard to get into the city. Berea is also a very boring town, not at all a college town and there is little to do in the surrounding areas. Advice is to definatly make friends with people who have cars, cause theres definatly things to do outside of the school. At BW i think music is emphasized too much and there is not enough acting. Don't get me wrong, you get great training with Vicky, but It would be nice if there were more/better straight acting classes. Next year a new acting class is being put in just for the MT majors, so that'll be very helpful. I think that the senior showcase is one of the most important aspects of a program and BW puts on one of the best showcases around. From what I heard CCPA only does a showcase in Chicago, I may be wrong though. Also another great thign about BW is the masterclasses, I'm sure you attended one when you auditioned. They are so important for making connections, by the end of this year I'll have been to about 10, and hopefully by the time I graduate it'll be about 40-50. Vicky has endless connections and pulls many strings to get us recognized. Vicky is the last reason to come here, she is just plain amazing and you almost have to experience her to understand what I mean. All in all it depends on what you're looking for. If you want more music based come here, if its' acting then think about the strengths and weaknesses of both programs. No matter what school you pick I'm sure you'll do great based on the fact that you were admitted to both highly selective schools.

Hey, I've looked at the thread for Final Decisions. And I don't know if there are any of you out there who have decided on BW but just haven't notified anyone but there is no one on the list as of yet who is planning to attend BW.

I am still in the process of trying to decide and am just flat out driving myself crazy. Please PM me or just post. It would be great to vent and see what others are thinking to know that im not alone.

I just heard today! I'm in!!! I'm so excited cos it was my top choice. However I might be going in as a sophomore, that's what they said. But those who are going please IM me...TheEponine

Next year BW will be doing the following shows:

Fall:
You Can't Take it with You
Side Show

Winter:
Lend Me a Tenor
Opera (I forgot what it was)

Spring:
One Act Festival
The Crucible
In Concert Musical (Not announced yet)

I'll be attending BW in the fall for MT!

On a different note, will anyone be attending Bat Boy this weekend? BWMT09, can you say anything about it?

Due to problems that came up in the Jr. class, Bat Boy has now turned into Bat Boy "Breaks Loose" Cabaret. Basically it will be lots of numbers from Bat Boy plus other stuff thrown in. I am seeing it tonight so I will post more about it later. Also, on Saturday night only, the freshmen class will be performing One Day More from Les Mis for the finale of the cabaret. I'm not really sure why we are... but we are. haha, very random. We've been working on it in workshop class and were coached by Dale Reiling, the current music director/conductor of the tour (and soon to be Broadway show) and Vicky's Husband and Kevin David Thomas, a the Marius cover on the tour and BW alum.
