I am a Junior in HS, and I took my finals few days ago, and I got low B on one of my exams.
I am really shocked right now, because I didn’t even think that I did bad on this exam at all…
Junior year is so important, and I feel like I ruined all by getting B on my final exam… (and it is not even an AP class…)
I still have an A overall in the class, but I know that when my school sends colleges a transcript,
they will be able to see all my quarter grades and exam grades.
I hope it would not appear like I slacked at the end of the year, because I really worked hard…
I had an average of 98 until now, but I think this final exam grade will affect my grade a lot. Probably drop by 3-4points…
Do college admission officers care a lot about final exam grade? or would it be okay if I still have an A?
@ekgracee423 Typically only final grades (not final exam grades) show up on HS transcripts, and maybe semester grades.
You should not need to worry – in worst case, you still have a 94 or 95?
Your percent grade probably won’t appear on your transcript, so there’s no difference between 94 and 100 if they’re both As. (Even if you get a B, your college admissions prospects will not change. If a college rejects you with a B, they would have rejected you with an A.)
As others have said, it is unlikely the the exam grade will appear on your transcript.
Having said that, you need to breathe. Even if your grade dropped to an A-, no college will think that you were “slacking.”
Okay… good to hear that. Thank you all!
