GW web site says finals are from Dec 14 to Dec 22.
In some colleges they allow the student to schedule the exams at their time of choosing to take the exams, like student A will decide to take English 101 at 11 PM on Dec 15th and will take Math 101 at 8 AM on Dec 16th, etc. There is no required fixed schedule to take the exams.
Or does GW follow a rigid schedule as in, Prof X’s English 101 class [not just the individual student] will take exam on Dec 14 at 4 PM and Prof Y’s English 101 will take their exam on Dec 15 at 6 AM etc?
The date and time of every single final I ever took at GW was chosen by the professor. The only “exception” was a language proficiency test I had to take with a professor, which was in addition to the written final.
I want to say that it’s around Thanksgiving, though I’m not certain. You have to assume they’d give families enough notice to purchase airline tickets, and we know how expensive they can be if purchased too close to the holidays.
Of note, I did a quick google search for the exam schedule, and GW already has a tentative schedule: https://my.gwu.edu/mod/exam_schedules/. Again, this is only tentative. I don’t recall there being something like this in the past.

Yep, that’s why I’m back on CC today! We hounded our son to get the 1st semester final dates so we could schedule flights and now I’m wondering about spring. Southwest will open airline tickets for May starting Nov 1 and I need to get on there and make them quick to get good prices. Good to know about that link, though, as I assume they will do that for 2nd semester, too.

Yep, NHuffers post helped me quiet a bit. I hounded my son and made him tell me the date and we booked a flight ticket [the best price and option]. The Spring will be only available in January after they register for classes, I think.
