Final Four Chances

THJ will likely be leaving. I do not think he can improve much. He won’t be a major loss. Of the four player who could leave, his departure will be felt the least.

I expect Robinson III and MGary to return though. Robinson is still growing and McGary’s entire value rides on the first 5 games of the NCAA tournament. He was not much of a factor for most of the season. Both have very bright futures in the NBA, but I think they are at least one year away.

Sources say he is gone

Officially gone

Yup and I’m still worried about McGary and Robinson - most mock drafts still have them in the 10-15 range. Pretty high.

It’s official, McGary and Robinson III are returning for their Sophomore season. Not surprising really. Any analyst that projected them in the top 10 or top 15 ignored a very simply fact; no matter how talented they are, they have not proven to be consistant enough. Recruiting they high in the first draft would have constituted a large risk. They will benefit greatly from another season at Michigan. With the returning talent, I think Michigan should be in good shape next year.

Yeah - big relief. The team will still be strong next year. Remember we have 3 highly touted freshmen arriving - PG Derrick Walton (4 star), forward Zak Irvin (now a 5 star) and forward Mark Donnal (4 star). Walton and Irvin will almost certainly start with Spike, Morgan, Lavert and Donnal in a nine man rotation.

Oh and Horford in a 10 man rotation.

We’ll definitely be deep next year, but I do not think we will be able to replace Burke. Still, we should have a strong team next year.

Wow, awesome news! Burke is a HUGE loss but they should have a great year with the rotation wayneandgarth pointed out.

The last few weeks have been good to Michigan. First, Helen Zell gave $50 million to Michigan’s graduate Creative Writing program, then we made it to the finals of the NCAA tournament, then the football program picked up a verbal from Drake Harris (one of the top 3 WRs in the country), then Munger decided to give the University a $110 million gift to graduate student housing and now McGary and Robinson III have decided to return for one more season.

Go Blue!!!

I did not see the Munger gift, do you have a link to any details?
