Final Notice Missing Document???

Hi, guys. Just now, I checked myberkeleyApplication and Calmail, and they say I am missing some documents. I will put the full content down here, but it's pretty much saying that they're missing some of my documents and my registeration might get cancelled if I don't send them in 10 days. The only missing document they listed in the notification was my AP - Official Test Scores, which I've sent and they've received and listed on their AP/IB exam score section. I will send them an e-mail and ask them what do I need to do next, but guys, did ANY OF YOU get such a notification??? It's also kinda weird, they say they're missing my AP score, but they also say my registeration won't get cancelled if that's the only thing I'm missing. ???? Then why did they even notify me if it's not going to affect me? Not to even mention they've received all my AP scores. Could it be my foreign document stuff that they're missing? But that was not listed in the notification. Guys, please, can anyone tell me what's going on and what I need to do next, 'cause I'm pretty scared now and I'm crapping my pants. Thanks.

Final Notice
Missing Documents
Fall Semester 2011

The Conditions of Admission accompanying your admission offer indicated that final transcripts and/or other documents must be received in the Admissions Office by July 15th.

As of the date of this message (shown below), we have not yet received all of your documents. Therefore, you have not satisfied all of the conditions of your admission, and now your admission and registration may be subject to cancellation.

If we still have not received all required documents within ten calendar days after the date of this notification, we will block your registration for the fall term.

Note: In order to be officially registered, you must not have any blocks against your registration; you can, however, continue to enroll in fall classes. If you are receiving financial aid you will not be able to access your funds; or if you are planning to live in University-operated housing, you will not be allowed to move in.

If we block your registration, the block will be removed once we receive the required document(s). You may verify removal of the block by using BearFacts at Student Systems.

Immediately notify the admission staff identified below, by email, if you did not complete AP/IB exams or college course work that you reported on your application for admission, or if you received an AP score below 3, or an IB Higher Level score below 5 on one or more exams (lower scores will not affect the offer of admission).

■AP - official test scores (Your registration will not be blocked if this is your only missing document.)

If you have previously requested missing documentation or if you cannot submit documents within the next ten calendar days, please immediately email the admissions officer whose contact information appears below.

Cancel my question about “Could it be my foreign document stuff that they’re missing?” because I found out there is no foreign document requirement after reading the conditions of admission. So they are only missing the AP scores that they listed that they received it days ago.

Yeah I was guessing it couldn’t be foreign documents cuz I’m foreign too and I didn’t send them anything.
I just checked my own Calmail and I didn’t get an email like that. If I were you, I wouldn’t worry that much because you have all the evidence you need to tell the Admissions people that the email was probably sent by mistake; like you said, you can go into MyBerkeleyApp and see your AP scores. Therefore they do have your AP scores  Plus, even if they didn’t have your scores, they said if this was the only thing you’re missing, they wouldn’t block you from admissions. I’d call them or email them quickly tomorrow just to make sure and to explain.

By the way, I would totally call instead of email (or both) because I have a similar situation in that I have a bill on CARS that shouldn’t be there. I emailed them last week and they still haven’t replied back…

I got this too, except I was missing both IB results and final transcripts w/ graduation date. I called them but I’m still quite worried about this. In reality, I sent everything to them already except for the thing with the graduation date. Even with the graduation date thing, the education board sent them something that has a date, but they need the high school to send a proof. Btw, in the US, do you guys actually get a transcript with date of graduation???

LemonCat, when you said that you didn’t send them anything, how is it that you have no warning like the ones jk and I got?

@a1b2c3333, maybe I misunderstood the documents that were being discussed, but I just meant that I’m an international student as well and I didn’t have to send any “international” documents like VISAs, passports, proof of citizenship in another country, etc. :)

Ah, I see. How did you satisfy your proof of graduation portion? I’m still in a pretty precarious position regarding this. Also, did they get your AP/IB results yet because they told me that IB results are still being downloaded?

thanks for the replies.
I requested my high school to send my final transcript to Berkeley. I don’t know the details, but they sent it in time, so I did not have any problem with it.
For AP scores, yea like I said, they said they got it on the list, but still sent me a mail telling me it’s missing. Damn…
but yea, I think I should call them after this weekend, since they take forever to reply an e-mail.

I would consider calling them…sometimes just having someone tell you the problem clarifies 10 emails.

I’m an international student from Canada and I was really worried about this stuff as well, since our province doesn’t even begin to send out transcripts until tomorrow (08/02). I talked to Lin (admissions advisor) about this and confirmed with her many times that our enrollment will not be affected. She explained to me that Cal understands international transcripts will be arriving much later, and that as long as our transcripts arrive at their office eventually, we are fine.

As for the email you recieved, she explained to me that it is an automated message that the system sends out to all incoming freshmen who’s documents have not been processed yet. She explained that if you are an international student, you can ignore the email, as they understand your transcripts will get there eventually.

I don’t know if that helps or not, but my understanding is that they realize some of us coming from out of state (or even out of country!) will be getting our documents to them at a later date.

Hope this helps a bit :)

I had the exact same problem, missing documents and all. I, too, had the required documents sent to the university … but my registration block still stands, four days later. … Though, I suppose it’s only been two business days.

Is your registration still blocked? If it’s been unblocked, do you mind telling how long it took for them to unblock you? Thanks, and good luck with everything!

^ For anyone else who might stumble across this thread in the future: when missing documents are sent to admissions and records (A&R), registration blocks caused by those missing documents are cleared “immediately,” according to Evelyn Madariaga, the A&R representative I spoke to on the phone. When I informed her that my registration block had not been lifted even though my missing documents had been sent in roughly one week ago, she quickly found my documents and lifted my registration block. Yay! Thank you, Evelyn!

But, yes. Sorry about bumping the thread like this. There doesn’t seem to be a way to edit my own post. Here’s hoping this post helps someone else at some point.
