Final NYU Dorm Decisions

To everyone who has the chance to apply for Freshmen Online Housing.

Which ones are you guys choosing? and What are your reasons?

My first choice is UHall-newest, heard lots of koreans there, close to Uni Square

the rest of the choices, i am not completely clueless.

also, dorms assignments are not based on order of our apps right?

hayden
rubin
u-hall
third north
brittany

i dont know about how they assign dorms, been wondering the same thing myself

I'm going to try to get into Goddard b/c of an exploration I'm really interested in. However, I don't believe that Goddard is an option until it comes time to sign up for explorations, so my choices will essentially be the same as scrapnel's.
I don't know how they assign dorms, either.

Hayden LCT: AC, supposedly the friendliest and funnest dorm, AND on the website, it's the only one with "future events" planned.
Rubin: Cheap and my friend liked it mucho.
Brittany: again, heard it was fun and friendly.

u-hall has sh1tloads of koreans
but there are plenty of koreans at all residential halls (except for maybe hayden ><.. don't know many koreans there)

Don't take Rubin: it's cheap for a reason... rooms are small, building is old... etc etc

UHall
3rd North
Hayden

But I really want UHall or 3rd North.

has anyone actually finished applying?

i am so frustrated because they made three mistakes in my personal info. and i have to arrange for changes!!

no i still didn't apply yet

by any chance would rubin be named after 'rick rubin'?

i didnt know uhall had a lot of koreans...anyhow, its my first choice

i love being an early decision student...we get first dibs ;)

anyway, heres are my choices

preference - Either

1-Hayden
2-Uhall
3-Brittany
4-3rd North
5-Rubin
6-Weinstein

1 - Hayden

2 - Rubin

Then...
Weinstein?
Brittany?
not sure... haha

ok. after some research, i have an idea now.

uhall
hayden
brittany
3rd North
Rubin
Weinstein

any feedbacks? I basically want a dorm where I can study when i need to, and play around when i want to.

also, ED kids usually gets their first choice?

Did I read somewhere here that Weinstein is getting an overhaul this summer? Wonder what's being done? I bet the cinder block walls stay.

ED kids do get first choice ;)

can anyone give the prices for these halls? how much would u-hall cost per year? probably more since its apartment style right? yea..if anyone can post the cost..it'd be appreciated

are you guys all ED students because RD hasnt gotten housing application yet...

I'm RD and I haven't gotten an ap.

I'm probably going to pick Rubin because it's cheap and supposedly has a nice dining hall. I like to eat!

hahahaha

omgitsjack...that made me LAUGH so hard, man you're awesome...
