Background: International JUNIOR transfer to LSA, 3.88 GPA, Does not know anyone in Umich, Assigned to Northwood 3 apartment.

1) If possible, I would like to do the Ross BBA, is it possible for me to transfer to Ross? I will be a Junior when I enter Umich.

2) Should I try and change my housing to one in Central Campus? I believe most transfers will be in Northwood so it won't be that bad after all...

3) If Ross is not possible, I would like to do Honors Economics. How difficult is it to enter an Honors Program?

Thanks!

Ross is possible, but it is a three-year program, so you must keep that in mind.

Getting into Honors Econ is not that difficult. All you need to do is maintain a good GPA (over 3.6, particularly in Econ classes).

Alexandre, thanks for the reply. If I get into Ross, does that mean that I will be in Umich for a total of 3 years which will mean an extra year? That isn't really a big deal for me as long as I can get into the program. To get into the program, do I have to tell my advisor that I want to change school? They are usually pretty easy about it, am I right?

I saw on the website that the deadline for BBA application is 31st March......Can I still enter the program?

No. You will have to wait until next year to apply. Dude, seriously its not worth it. Just major in Economics and get an MBA later on.

I agree with MightyNick. A BBA at Michigan is designed for students who enter as Freshmen, not for transfers. Major in Economics, maintain a high GPA and you will have a lot of options when you graduate. I did!

Thanks!! How abouth the North Campus thing?

Try talking to the Housing office and see if they can give you housing in Oxford, because I'm sure it has space available as its the least desired dorm on main campus. Otherwise, I don't think there would be too many people willing to switch from Central (including oxford) to Northwood. Actually I don't think there is a single person that would be willing to do that.

Aren't Northwood apartments, though? That might make them a lot more appealing to some people who prefer an apartment to a room.
