OK, I signed up for an online AP Physics B class because my school doesn't offer it, and for a number of reasons that I would rather not go into, it looks like I'm going to end the class with a B. I've been accepted to Yale and a few other places of similar caliber, and I was wondering if something like this would cause them to reconsider my acceptance. I know that lots of people get in with less than 4.0's, so I'm not being paranoid about it. But I don't want the admissions staff to view this solitary B as not "contingent upon continued strong academic performance in the program of courses * presented in [my] application."

I'm just wondering if they will see this as laziness on my part (which it isn't) and think I'm not committed anymore to finishing out my senior year.

*Also, sorry if this is totally in the wrong place :P

AP Physics difficult; I doubt a B will be an issue.

I was accepted to Yale RD also. My counselor says as long as I don’t get below a B I should be okay.

Somehow, I think dealing with your first B before you get to Yale would be considered a very good thing. Do not lose any sleep over this at all :)

B’s won’t do anything to your acceptance at this point. It’s when you start getting C’s that Yale will start to raise an eyebrow at you.

You’re fine. And ditto on what riverrunner said - dealing with your first B beforehand will be a good experience. There will almost certainly be more to come (I’ve accepted this fact at Princeton, and I’m sure it isn’t that much different at Yale).
