Final Solution to the LOL question

I have and I'm sure that everyone has noticed that when chatting on IM services people say lol alot and everyone is guilty of this. I was wondering how much percent of the time when you say lol online are you really laughing. THis may be a stupid thread but I was just wondering. My teachers always told me to never stop asking questions.

I never LAUGH, as in a flat out audible laugh. Sometimes I SMILE, or GRIN when I say Lol, but hardly ever. I'd say about 10% or less of the time.

i only laugh when i put lmao

thats what i thought. i would say 3% over my lifetime I have laughed

when i say lol i smile or maybe chuckle a bit...that's all, just a chuckle...that's all

If I'm really laughing I'll say something like...

I'm a seriously laughing right now

I don't really say lol anymore. I used to, though.

When I'm seriously laughing, which can be often because I have some funny friends. I'll type lol over and over and then put the traditional "asdsjdfsdjhfjsdfjksfsdfsdjhfj aahahahahahah" cherry on top.

Dude, I don't laugh. online or offline unless its around my friends when they say stupid crap. But online.........no, not really. ;)

when I giggle I put lol

Wait, I mean chuckle, giggle is so childish

LOL at this topic.

haha on MSN I saw lol when someone says something that's not even remotely funny. It's a habit.

But when someone says something and I smile, I usually say, "haha" or "That was laugh out loud funny."

I've probably only laughed... like really laughed like twice on MSN.

I probably say I laugh less than 1% of the time when I say lol. I smile probably about 10% of the time.

yeah.....i dont actually laugh, but its just a way to convey the message that you find the other person's comment/problems amusing....i like to change it up a bit ot keep things interesting with haha, rotfl, and the ever popular wtwhiwlatybotligoot

I have to agree with this statement, because it is true for me.

I definitely laugh at some of my friends...

laughing is overrated i think. we need more angry people in the world anyway

I usually say lol when someone says something stupid and I can't think of anything else to say. I'm very rarely actually laughing.

LMAO

I only laugh whenever I use rofl or lmao; never when using lol.

i say lol when somebody says something interesting or clever. i use lmfao, lmao, or rofl when i am actually laughing hard.

i say W T F when i'm not laughing at all

^ l . o . l
