I'm still in high school right now. (We end next week.)

My college counselor told us that if the school we are attending was applied to using common app, they'll send the final transcript as a school form to the school for us.

I recently checked my application status on NYU and it said that it hasn't received my final one yet. I know we can't register for classes until they have the transcript and my orientation is in two weeks so I need to hurry it up a bit.

Should I just call the office and ask them if they have it on Monday? I'm starting to freak out a bit here.

speak now,

I advise you to stay on top of sending the transcript out by your HS as soon as they can. They also can’t possibly send out a complete transcript until younare done with classes; that is, at minimum one week but likely a little longer to process all the paper wrk for graduating seniors.

With that said, NYU CAS advisors do not necessarily have to have all official paperwork in hand before they will assist you with registration. Just bring your own copies of academic records. My S’s final AP exam scores and , I believe, final transcript had not been received by NYU by orientation time but NYU only asks for whatever copies you have. Also, just bring copy of the transcript with all grades received already and copy of classes taken last semester senior year HS and you should be good to go. They will let you know if your unofficial records conflict with the final official records. Hopefully, there will not be much discrepancy. But you definitely can register. S graduated towards end of June but his orientation was mid June last year. Hakuna Matata.

You’re totally fine. I haven’t even technically graduated, because one of my teachers apparently forgot to submit one of my required grades and thus I’m now in some weird limbo, but it wasn’t a problem– I just signed up for my classes at orientation a couple days ago. The only thing that should really stop you are if you have any “holds” on the Albert Student Center that aren’t promissory-note related. Otherwise, you should be golden.

Question: How can I check the status of my final transcript? Call admission or from NYU web site?

My counselor told it has been mailed but I want to make sure…

You can either email Admissions or your regional admissions rep at NYU. Of course, calling may provide you with an answer sooner. All you do is provide your applicant ID # or name and they will look it up for you.

evolving, thank you for the answer.
if by 7/1/11, NYU doesn’t get my final report, what will happen? my admission will be revoked? thanks again…

You can check your final transcript status on Albert. But if it’s shown not arrived, don’t worry, cause NYU admissions office acts slow…And they definitely not gonna revoke your admissions.
