final transcript

I got in early decision to william and mary. In the package I received, I noticed that W&M requires a final transcript. Is it possible that they could reject me after senior year has ended if my grades were atrocious, leaving me with no other college options? Or am I in the clear?

I want to know how much I can slack off the rest of the year. Please let me know.

Just don't go from mostly A's to mostly C's and you should be fine. Any college reserves the right to rescind an offer of admission if the final transcript indicates a significant drop in performance.

as Matthew said, all colleges will require a final transcript, and yes, they can take away your acceptance leaving you at the local community college.

A's turning into C's is bad. A couple of your A's turning into B's is fine. You'll probably want your senior year GPA to be within a couple tenths of what it was when you got accepted.

well my grades are mostly b's now. I have 5 extremely difficult AP classes. I had an A in one for the first quarter. If I got a couple C's would that be terrible?

No one here can tell you for sure.

Ask yourself if it's worth the risk. Is skipping an extra hour of studying worth the risk of getting a C on each test instead of a B? How happy will you be if your admissions did get taken away, knowing that if you had studied an hour more for each test you would be where you wanted to be the next 4 years of your life?

Taking 5 AP classes is not an excuse to drop your GPA to a 2.8. As I said, try to keep your GPA within a few 10ths of where you got accepted. If you had a 3.8ish, keep your second semester GPA around a 3.4, and it'll average out to 3.6 for senior year.

During my senior year I had like a 3.9 first semester. Then 3rd quarter I had like a 2.9, and I told myself I better finish strong, and I did. I ended the year with like a 3.7 or something (~4% of the class had over a 4.0). So you see, what you drop to 2nd semester will show up as half of that when averaged with your 1st semester, but... how far do you want to push it?

I had a 4.2 (W) the first quarter. 3.8 was my cum. If I got straight B's I would still have a 4.0 (W). If I had a couple C's I would be around 3.6-3.8. So what's more important, my weighted GPA or my actual grades/ percentages?

Dude, Chill..........................you will be fine. But like Soccerguy said, why push it?

those grades will be fine.
