Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone knows how carefully Macalester reviews final transcripts and how common it is for them to rescind admission (or at least demand an explanation) based on a poor grade in the last term/semester. Does anyone have any knowledge about the strictness of their policy? Thanks.

I don't have any specific experience with it (as in, my last semester grades were basically identical), but my feeling is that unless they were drastically different from the grades that got you admitted, you'd be ok. If there is a grade thats significantly lower, I'm fairly sure they'd give you a chance to explain it before automatically rescinding admission (granted, if your gpa for last semester was a 2.0 when the rest had been 4.0, I'd say you probably should be worried about it). Overall, I'd say its not too strict, but not to mess around too much with it if you can help it.
