<p>ok... so ive been taking kaplan practice tests at the classes... and been getting like
Math: 720,750,780
CR:630,650,680
writing:530,630,680</p>
<p>that was for the april SAT... i decided not to take it in april cuz i wanted to take it at my school in MAy... well a month came and went, i just took a practice one in the bluebook, the first one, and got (since its by range)
Math: above/below 700
CR: low 600
writing.. mid 700</p>
<p>i dun care about math, its my best subject, i just aced the Columbia math.. :-p, but i found my weakness in CR at least, THE PASSAGES. im fine wiht the whole pick the word, but i get like 10 wrong in the passage areas, where u have to interpret stuff</p>
<p>any last week help for the CR section (more specifically passages) with a week to GO!!!??</p>
<p>btw... after going to columbia's campus. I HAVE to go there now, its like my dream school.. wat would i need?</p>
<p>i just took a practice test
and..i have to give you some advice: train your mind so that you feel INTERESTED in the passages. Believe me, I just did that, and I got 16/16 of the Passage Questions right. </p>
<p>Other than that, just practice practice practice. Take the types of questions and find out your own way of solving them:
Big Picture- Main Idea, Authors Tone, etc
Little Picture- Facts
Vocab In Context
Inferences- "How Would the Author of Passage 1 react to Passage 2?", etc</p>
<p>So overall my advice is to be optimistic about what your reading because there's really no way to prepare in just one week. </p>
<p>Train your mind to do this: "OH BOY! I GET TO READ ABOUT THE IMPACT OF CELERY ON SOCIETY! NEAT!"</p>
<p>i know... practice practice, practice. todays sunday im goin to grandmas house... all day... >_< good time to crack out the book. Ill try what u said about... making believe im interested in why "soil may help cars"....</p>
<p>and wat would be good for columbia... i looked on collegeboard, but... i need some real ppl grades as to who got in....</p>

<p>wow... never in my life have i been so interested in the problems of why panda may be taken off the extinction list, and how language may be in us innately.... </p>
<p>only 1 wrong in the whole section... it definitely is possible to raise ur SAT score in a week :-p<br>
cant wait to try this on a full practice test...
as for math... im only doing the hard problems of each section to keep my brain in math a lil bit.. just so i dont forget its still there ^_^</p>
