I need some directions asap. I turned in my application as a NMSemifinalist weeks ago, assured of my ability to get finalist. But now, I can't remember if I had my SAT scores sent to NMS or not. I'm pretty sure I didn't, though. Should I call someone and explain (if so, what number)? Or would it be too late to send them?

First call College Board and ask if you sent them. Then if not call NMS (look in the paperwork for the phone number) and tell them there "was a mistake" and your scores have not been sent. Ask them if it is too late to send. If not, then call College Board and send them. If it's too late. Sorry. Learn from your mistake and move on.

You're not too late! NMS accepts scores through the December 2005 testing date, so you can still send your scores if you haven't already.

Yeah...it's definitely not too late. I just took the 5th November SAT and of course, my scores haven't been sent to the Nat'l Merit people yet. As long as you get the score problem taken care of by December, you'll be fine.

Good luck :)

Oh thank goodness, I forgot about the December test deadline. Thanks so much- I'll call them first thing Monday morning.

It's so funny, this issue hit me last night because I was reading that other thread on CC about why semifinalists don't get to finalist status, and I was reading through it thinking, "Wow. Why are people so stupid that they forget to send their app in? Do they just not care? Why that's just sill-OH ****." :)
