Same, chocolatexo, still waiting here in PA. Happened with semifinalist notification, also. My college counselor waited so long we barely had time to complete the application. In fact, I had to ask her about it after reading on CC that SF lists had been released.

Does anyone know whether there is a next step to be taken after one receives notification of finalist status?

intparent, we are also waiting in Minnesota. Wasn’t announceed today (Thursday). We’re in the public school system of the Twin City that starts with an M! Our student is totally laid back about it, but I am not. I want to trust that we should have heard about rejection by now, but I like things wrapped up. There’s still tomorrow. Surely, they won’t wait until after the weekend…

Still waiting in mid-Missouri (moderately large school- gr 10-12 with about 500 in each grade and 10 NMSF’s this year). I’d think the principal would have them by now, but my son doesn’t want me to “bug” and call to check. I think the school was focused on that athletic signing thing today!

We did not receive any rejection letters but have not been notified by the school either. We live in northern california and would like to know if this is a geographical issue wrt timing or if there are other norcal parents who have got either a rejection letter or have been told by the school? I called up the NMSC and they told me that snail mail letters were sent out this morning to all and that rejection letters were sent out 2 weeks ago so I am hopeful. And I am glad that this is taking place before August 1st - we would have to wait until a monday to find out :-)

Letters were mailed to your school principal on 1/31, so unless they are on vacation or something, it has probably been in their hands for a couple of days at least. If you haven’t heard something by next week (say, Tuesday), follow up with the school to see if they have the info.

26/29 is worse than the usual rate of 15K out of 16K. I wonder if the overall rate/number is going down this year? Maybe the cutoffs didn’t work out nicely and they ended up with number on the high side in too many states?

In our school’s press release, they stated the statistic of 15,000 selected out of 16,000 SF candidates. However, it was sloppily worded and made me think that they just cut and pasted from last year’s announcement.

Haven’t received an official letter, but our school posted their NMFs on a newsletter email yesterday. 3 NMSF out of a class of 118 & all are NMFs.

I was just notified by my school principal yesterday. I’m in! I would definitely go ask your counselors or principals if you haven’t already done so.
