What do yall think?? ( last post sry)

I think you have WAY too many safeties and not enough matches. My cousin got into BU this year with barely a top 25% rank and a 1260 to give you an idea of how you are underestimating yourself. You are getting into BU, just one super safety is needed.

It seems you want a fun school in the northeast. I recommend Vassar (mini-Brown), Tufts, and Middlebury (mini-Dartmouth) as high matches, and maybe a place like Trinity as a safe match. If you are willing to leave the Northeast, Emory would be a great high match. You are underestimating yourself, dump some of the safeties!!

Might want to add Holy Cross a better Catholic school than Fordham and Marist. HC has very good alumni network.

thanks slipper for the advice. My number one and two choices are cornell and nyu. But yea vassar is like 15 minutes from my house, way to close to my parents lol. but thanks alot for the response.

That is awesome, I think you'll get into both. But honestly you have more safeties than almost anyone else I have ever seen. I know a girl who had a similar strategy as you have now. She ended up getting into all 6 safeties, none of her three reaches, and not her match. She was crying, I wanted to say "told you so."

Also, are you sure you like Cornell and NYU. They are absolutely different. In absolute honesty, I sweat 3/4 NYU kids I know hate it. It just isn't a college experience, you miss out on a lot of random fun that goes on at places like your reaches and some of the schools I mentioned.

slipper i think you right, the more i think about it, cornell is defintiely my number one choice. I think i liked the idea of nyu more than actually picturing myself there as a student. But i will check out the schools youve recommended thanks!

I noticed that you have 2 history SAT IIs
Aren't you supposed to take 2 in different subjects? At least, that's what I remember for most schools (might be different for the schools you're applying to)

Lol! I think that's what happens with most students and NYU. I was at a party last weekend and some NYU students were there and all they talked about was transferring, lack of community, etc.

I would ED Cornell if its not too late. They give a BIGTIME boost to ED applicants. Also, I think Colgate might be up your alley as a match. Its small but it has a great New England feel and atmosphere, alot like Cornell and Dartmouth.

def agree with slipper1234, tufts a great suggestion

i think BU would def be a safety and NYU would be a good match

thankss all. anyone else?

bumpppp. last call?

I do not think BU is a safety. While you should get in, they sometimes deny people with good stats. Several people from my school with pretty good stats (one with around 1380, 4.0 for example) were rejected, while many people with much lower stats were accepted. Other than that, I agree with slipper.

thanks chocolate

I agree, too many safeties.Brown and Dartmouth are real longshots without ED. BU is a good safety. Vassar is still not all that coeducated, though a great school.

mensa, what do you think about cornell and nyu lets say.

I don't know as much about cornell and nyu. What school you apply to at Cornell is also a big factor, which is a source of confusion to me. Some pretty ordinary types get into Cornell, but I', never sure which school. Plus they keep changing the names of the schools, so its hard to keep track.

anyone else know my chances particulary for cornell and nyu?
