Reach:

Match:
RPI
Boston University
University of Rochester
UIUC
Case Western Reserve

Safety (can someone suggest one more?):
Rutgers

I know my reaches are pretty high, but i'd really love to get in. I'm very good at writing essays and i think i'll get some really good recommendations.

You should really take NYU off your reach list. Its more of match, if not a safety. 5 students with average GPAS and SAT scores of around 1700-1900 in my schools graduating class were accepted into NYU. However, if you're trying to get into NYU stern, thats a entirely different story. Don't stress, your SAT score is decent and your ECs show commitment. You'll be fine.

Other safeties you might be interested in are University of Pittsburgh and Providence College. They seem to be similar to the schools you're looking at.

I would agree that NYU is closer to a match.

Just wanted to point out, your ECs are actually good. Working as an IT assistant is a great thing!

Penn State, Ohio State, RIT, some UCs maybe?

You’ll be fine. :)
