Finally, a notification email from Stanford!

Same...I hope we all get in! Best of luck to everyone :D

Anyone else get an error that their "email address could not be found" when they inputted it on the application status website? I was told to call/e-mail Stanford to have this problem sorted out.

It's odd that they could send me a confirmation e-mail...but somehow not recognize my e-mail address.

polkahard did you try again? maybe it will take a day or so to adjust once they start to input your transcp, recs etc.

good luck

Yeah, I figure it's probably just a mistake because I know they have my e-mail address, since I got my confirmation e-mail. I'll give it a few days.

polkahard, that happened to me at first as well, but then I realized I had a typo... haha

yay! I got the email too...and they said that they have everything :)

Meh...they're actually missing my teacher eval two....I checked with my teahcer who said she was sending it in the day I asked her....Should I ask her again now or should I wait a few days and check with stanford before asking her?

fruitaspice, I don't think you should ask your teacher again. Not that I know her or anything, but if she says she's sending it in, then she probably did. It might just annoy her. I also had the urge to ask my teachers if they'd send it in yet, but I ended up just sending them a thank-you note after I turned in my application online-- something along the lines of "Whew- I just turned in my Stanford app! I want to say thank you again for writing my letters of recommendation" which doesn't ask them outright but makes sure that they're taking care of it.

Does anyone here use Gmail? I'm debating whether or not I should turn off the snippets, because I don't want to login to my email one day in December and suddenly read a response from Stanford without having been mentally prepared for it. Or maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised...?

lol, slee00, I didn't think of that - I use gmail for all my college stuff, but all the mail I receive is forwarded to my yahoo account. If by early/mid-December they haven't said that they'll send it by a certain time on a certain day (as they did last year), if I were you I would definitely turn the snippets off! I would hate to have it ruined when I wasn't expecting it :P

well...I gave her the thank you card the day I checked with her...so I'm really not sure what to do...

frutiaspice, perhaps you could just casually mention to your teacher that the rec is missing. Something like, "It's weird, though, they seem to have everything except for your recommendation; perhaps they haven't processed it yet," which would be more tactful than directly asking.

fruitaspice,

You may want to give it a few more days. They are still processing thousands of pieces of information.

This forum is evidence of why stanford would be so awesome: everyone is wishing each other good luck on getting in. If this were some other super-competitive eastern university, everyone would be rooting for others to be denied so they could get in, but not at Stanford! Good luck guys

Yeah, that's what I'm doing. I'm going to wait a few days before checking again. And anyways, Stanford said that they'll email me if anything is missing and since they haven't done that yet, I'm sure it's fine. Thanks everyone for the advice and support :)

And good luck too!

Hockey,

Yes, I would hope that as human beings we can be gracious enough to be kind to others. It is nice to see these days, since everyone seems to be so ruthless and even lying just to get into colleges. Good luck

I just heard that Caltech is notifying the EA applicants this week. I dont know how thye can do it so quickly. Wish all of them luck.

How about Stanford? When are they letting us know the result? It's painful waiting!!! isn't it?

They said no later than Dec. 15 though I probably wouldn't expect it anywhere as soon as Caltech, seeing as Stanford has many, many more applicants.

"I just heard that Caltech is notifying the EA applicants this week. I dont know how thye can do it so quickly. Wish all of them luck."

Huh? Where did you hear about this?

MAN , I still haven't gotten one....
