The quarter was extended due to Hurricane Sandy, so I only got my first high school report card this past Friday. I'm fairly pleased. These classes and their scores are in order of my day, so the first class in the list will be my first of the day.

Honors English - 97
Intro to Science Research - 93
PE - 96 (?)
Honors Biology - 91
Honors Geometry - 90 (I eat lunch this period, usually.)
Orchestra - 99
French II - 95
Honors Global History - 95
Computer Programming 1 - 100

This equals out to a 94.75 unweighted average, 97.08 weighted. My goal for the first quarter was 95 weighted, this next one, I plan on at least a 98.5 weighted.

Here's what I've noticed about this. My lowest grades are the periods that I'm the hungriest, I guess it detracts from my focus. I usually eat cereal in the morning, but I'm always hungry by the end of English. Anyone else lose focus when they're hungry?

Nice grades.
Is there any way you could maybe eat a snack in between periods?
I’m pretty fortunate in the way that most of my teachers don’t really care if we eat in class. So I can usually eat a tangerine or something.

For me, it’s not hunger, it’s more or less lack of sleep.

Ha, try participating in a sport like rowing, wrestling, or boxing where you have to make weight. Sometimes people eat literally nothing for days at a time. =/

The best detractor for me from eating is chewing gum, personally. Also, drink lots of water - it will fill your stomach. Most schools I know allow you to bring a water bottle to class. Also, eat right. Some foods will keep you full for longer. Cereal is not one of them.

All of my classes allow us to bring whatever we want, in fact an hour ago when I was taking my math final, someone accidentally spilled their soda into someone else’s backpack and soaked all his books.
