Finally it has happened

I was always afraid of this moment. I would always tell myself that I would be ****ed if the decisions did not come out as I checked WA (i never meant it, i was truly scared). But it happened. As soon as I got in, I saw the words "7th Semester Grades.... Not received". I immediately turned the internet off. What will happen now?

You’ll submit your seventh semester grades, you’ll either get in this Spring or you wont. If you still want to go to Michigan you’ll go to a CC or another college (I recommend someplace that has transfer equivalency charts, like most CCs) and you can try again after a year if you were close to getting in, worst comes to worst you apply during your second year to start here your third. Or you’ll get in during the RD period and it will be fine.

Having transferred from a CC, I can tell you that transferring is kind of difficult in several ways. However, if Michigan is where you want to be, it’s worth it.

where did you see it?

You were deferred. The good news is that you weren’t denied, and you probably have about a 50/50 chance of eventually being admitted…if you send in your 7th Semester Grades…ASAP. So, I’d kick azz the remainder of the semester if I were you.

mori: what are your stats?

Moricarak that really sucks. I would do the exact same if that showed up for me…

thanks guys… haha i remember just a few hours ago i was one of you guys complaining about when the decision would come out… Well, I guess thats that. And Balthezar, how can I send in my 7th semester grades as SOON AS POSSIBLE when im still in my 2nd quarter?

Also, if you know any U of M grads, have them write you another supplement letter of recommendation. Anything helps!

I don’t quite understand the dilemna that Morciark is in. Can someone please elaborate? It seems that he/she has been admitted, but then rescinded because of grades? Any clarification is appreciated.

Adam

I got a professor I know to send in an extra letter of recommendation. Should I get my cousin (UMich grad) to write another one?

he was deferred, meaning his decision was postponed for further review. he will have to update his application with 7th semester grades, or his second semester of his senior year.

Mori, sending your grades in as soon as possible kinda means after you get them bud ;), but if you can send them in before you get them, I hope they give you props…

“I got a professor I know to send in an extra letter of recommendation. Should I get my cousin (UMich grad) to write another one?”

did u send in 2, originally?? if so, then, for the love of god, do not send in 2 more.

DON’T SEND IN TOO MANY RECOMMENDATION LETTERS!
unless they are amazing and say something that the others all dont, and REALLY bring out who you are, dont bother. UM will just consider it spam.

uh-oh. I didn’t ask my cousin to send in an extra rec. letter, but my prof. wrote an AMAZING letter (I read it and it made me actually proud of myself :)) but anyways I definitely wont be sending in any more letters (after reading TheyCallMeCC and bunbun24’s responses haha)

just for the record, you normally shouldn’t read your letter of recs, normally you waive your rights to it, maybe thats just in my school but idk
