Screw USC. I tried my best. If they couldn't get past my mediocre SAT scores, don't think my trilingual talent, my ability to balance 4 jobs, and the multiple articles I published in newspapers were good enough, it's THEIR LOSS.

I'm kinda sad I wasted so much time on them. After all, it's just a school.

This morning in class, I received a phone call from NYU Steinhardt for a possibly of scholarship there. I'm soo excited!! :)

I'm more sad about not being able to go to California than being rejected from USC.. as some of you know, I really want to go into communication and link that with model management. LA would have been the perfect enviornment to get exposed.. oh well,

Now I'm beginning to see that maybe NYC is even better! :)

It's closer to home too. Although I don't like the east coast weather, I'm sure my college experience will be a blast..

@ OP. all this time during the admissions process, particularly that of usc, ive seen your enthusiasm for the university, and you are right in saying that they are the ones missing out.
but now you have NYC to look forward to, so best of luck!

Since I have a 99% probability of getting rejected... I think i am gonna go with UCI and then transfer to possibly cornell... or usc... (which means i have to take classes over summer... which isn't too bad)

stressedout-
As a mother of a D who was accepted for spring '08, I have been really touched by all your posts. I was hoping you would be accepted by USC. You are so right - it is there loss and NYU's tremendous gain. I think you can be assured that this is a somewhat random selection. More importantly, you have touched so many hearts. I expect in a few years you will have a top modeling agency in a WARM climate. Be proud of all your accomplishments!

Thank you for the sweet blessing! I wish your daughter the best of luck at USC Spring! You are right, this college admission process is a bit out of our control too. I'm sure whever we end up, we'll all be fine.

I'm glad I made so many friends on CC! Feel free to add me on facebook! I want to keep in touch with all of you! =)

I just noticed your # of posts! You are incredibly motivated, perseverant, intelligent, and you’ve helped a LOT of people on these boards. Don’t ever think your time was wasted here. You need to find your positive energy now and change your name to Unstressed0ut!

you WILL have an awesome time in NYC =D I know it! best of luck on your scholarship there =] you can always come visit and do grad school here in cali yah? =D

I can relate to your experience as I too was rejected at my #1 choice (2 & 3 also.). I remember seeing the letter through the jumble of mail and instantly realizing that one of my major goals wouldn't work out. I wasn't really surprised, but it was still quite disappointing. However, I soon realized that there's more than one place where I'll be able to enjoy my college years and that I still had somewhere good to go.

Well, Good Luck at NYU, hopefully you'll enjoy yourself there and accomplish all the things you wanted to.

Didn't get in either! It's alright because I'm going to UCSD.

I half expected it due to the length of time it took to receive any form of notice. Who knows, maybe I'll decide to transfer or do grad work there.

It's been fun knowing ya'll. Keep in touch! :)
