ok chill with the songs bro

Lol, not a fan?

Anyways, UNC decision coming out on next Friday ;). Getting in there is a great sign of things to come.

Good luck. Is that school high on your list? The wait is killing me, I just need to know where I’m going to college already. I haven’t even gotten through mid-terms and I feel like I can’t handle the stress. :(

Tangent, at this stage I don’t really have a “list”. I mean obviously UVA is my #1 by a mile, but after that, it is whatever school I get into. Thus far this is how my college process has played out:
University of Michigan - In (invited to apply to honors)
Boston College - In (4 years of housing)
Georgetown - Deferred (past two years have accepted 5+ EA, this year only 1)
Waiting to hear from in order of where I would go:

 1. UVA - Obviously
 2. Wharton - Arguably the best business school in the world
 3. UNC - Basically UVA but in NC
 4. Harvard - Not a shot in hell, but meh
 5. Dartmouth - Their own ski mountain? I like! Great in business world
 6. Notre Dame - I don’t know, something about this school is appealing
 7. USC - West coast + good business school
 8. Duke - BASKETBALL
 9. Cornell - Great business school, but cold doesn’t even begin to describe it
 10. Vanderbilt - South

Did you get into Ross and Carroll?

From same site:

"On average Ann Arbor, MI is warmer than Ithaca, NY by 1°F.
The overall average low temperatures for Ithaca, NY and Ann Arbor, MI are the same. "

“Notre Dame, IN on average is warmer than Ithaca, NY by 2°F.
On average Ithaca, NY is cooler than Notre Dame, IN by 1°F.”

Woosah - I got into Carroll, but have yet to hear back about Ross.

Monydad - I know… They’re all cold.

congrats!.

You need to REALLY think about schools and their climates. If you are a cold-natured person who might have a twinge of SAD, then you need to really reexamine whether or not you’d be happy for four years in a location where it’s bitterly cold most of the year. I mean it’s one thing to consider schools that are located in areas where it gets cold (i.e. Boston); it’s another thing to consider being in a place like upstate NY, Evanston/Chicago, South Bend, etc. where it is absolutely frigid. It doesn’t bother a lot of people; however, there are some that would be miserable in these environments. Sure you might be able to tolerate it for four years, but why would you force yourself to? There are so many great schools across the country – it’s absolutely unnecessary.

jc40 I would be happy at all of these colleges. I mean, obviously I would prefer warm weather. But I’ve lived in NY for 10 years have become immune. You do raise an excellent point though. Although I’m not a huge fan of the cold weather, colleges offer indoor facilities which are great. I love playing basketball and currently have to drive 15 minutes to a gym to play - not fun. Weather isn’t the largest factor in terms of options, but it will definitely play a role in my decisions.
