Finally!

A drama thread! :)

Is there anyway to move over the part 12 discussion going on under "arts"?

Yes, we finally managed to get Theater/Drama its own forum on CC. After all, we have only been talking about it for years and one GIANT thread that is in 12 parts. I will move every part over to this forum now.

After that, we no longer have to have one catch all thread on all things "theater" and can have threads on subtopics, much like on the Musical Theater Forum.

Enjoy.

Comedy/Tragedy Masks (internet style):
:) :(

This is soooo awesome!! Thank you to "the powers that be"!!!

Is there anyway to get a list of top programs/schools like the MT list has???

Thanks for the appreciation. The time had certainly come for this. For those of us who have been on CC for a long while, the MT Forum evolved in much the same way as there was one LONG thread on MT colleges that went to something like 42 parts and then its own forum was created and many sub topics then had their own threads.

With Theater/Drama, we have had one LONG thread in 12 parts for many years like we had with MT. Now, Theater/Drama can have threads on subtopics (though I moved many of that sort that aleady exist over to this new forum too).

You ask about separate Drama Program/School forums at the top of this forum like the MT Forum has and you referred to them as "top programs." First, I want to mention that the list of MT schools at the top of the MT Forum are NOT meant to represent "top" or "best" programs or even all the programs. Rather, the way those sub forums were chosen were because there already were threads in existance on those schools, enough to warrant sorting them into their own school sub forums. It was meant to be an organizational tool to categorize existing threads.

Right now, for Theater/Drama, we do not have a lot of threads on each school and so I am not sure I could get CC to put up some "real estate" on this new forum for separate school forums. If, over time, like with the MT forum, we have many threads on individual schools, perhaps these could have their own fora. But right now, I doubt CC will do that. By the way, CC already has individual forums for MANY colleges and universities. So, that is another place to read about certain schools like BU, Rutgers, USC, UCLA, and the like. Otherwise, if someone wants a discussion on a particular theater program, start a thread on that individual school and at least one could find it in a search of this new Theater/Drama Forum. It is better than before at least.

Thanks for that added insight! I understand what you're saying about the schools listed over at MT being representative of the most discussed and not necessarily the best. :) I probably said "top" because I was thinking of how they are listed at the top, LOL!

Hi all, I guess I've found a new haunt since my daughter is in an acting program. I'll have to spend time catching up with all the stuff posted thus far!
