so i've been putting off this class for awhile. but need it for a requirement when i transfer this spring. i'm pretty apprehensive since i have no prior experience with this class. how difficult was it for some of you at first? basically i have 2 options for this. i can take an online version of the course. basicall we keep up our own pace. the teacher i heard isnt too helpful, other than having weekly online quizzes/homework. multiple choice tests which are a bit tricky. high workload, but convenient you have a busy lifestyle, manage your time properly, etc.

the other actg class, meets 1 night a week for 3 hr's. the teacher is very student friendly and helpful. no required/graded homework, but instead relies upon in class group work with homework/tests. but its a bit of a commute.

especially for a course like financial accounting which option would you be better off with? its the debate of highworkload/convenience vs teacher friendly environment/group activities/commute time etc

Financial Acctg was a difficult course for me when I took it in a class. Not sure how it will be for you but I'd rather take this in a class with a teacher.

Subjective, some people will grasp it quick, some will need to study more. Either way don't make excuses, if you suck and don't understand it put more effort into it. I'm recommend the class just incase.

It all depends...I took this class and found it to be very easy and interesting. I got an A and the highest grade in the class because all the other students would complain more than actually paying attention. I think there is more hype about it being difficult than it really is. Everyone is different though. Just make sure you look up the professors ratings/reviews and I am sure if you apply yourself enough you will do just fine.

5 entry you are correct. I am an accounting prof at a SUNY. (I'm on cc because I have 3 kids in college) Accounting is not a class you can blow off, not come to class, not do the hw or wait until the last minute to try and learn. If you do the work (hw, attend the class, read the book), you should pass the class.

IT IS NOT HARD, but you must keep up. I've been teaching it for a lot of years and i have heard many things from students. #1 thing said, "If I had only done the work..."

Financial Accounting was pretty easy for me. I had a wonderful teacher that taught me alot about it. You do have to study, but It came pretty easy for me. I got an A in the Class.
