I am currently a high school junior in NJ. I have a high GPA and SAT Scores and the college search is constantly in the back of my mind. I am aspiring for a dual major in Finance and Computer Science, so I am looking for good colleges that are exceptionally well in those two programs.
I am currently looking at:
University of Virginia
UPenn
Columbia
Northeastern
MIT
Carnegie Mellon
Villanova
Boston College
UMD College Park
I would really appreciate it if you could tell me any more good East Coast colleges for those two programs. I want to get a mix of public and private universities so any college will help. If there is also any type of specific program for business and engineering, I would greatly value that information as well.
Thank you
Michigan is incredibly good at both, but that might be too far west for you (still in the Eastern timezone though).

@yikesyikesyikes Thank you, I heard UMich was a terrific college, but yeah it is a bit too far for me.
@newjerseygirl98 wow, thanks. A lot of these colleges I had taken an interest in, and now I’m going to go in and take a second look at them. I prefer something closer to a city, so I like American, Drexel, and Fordham. Are there any tips you have for me when I’m narrowing down the college search?
@shimbroza What is it that you are looking for exactly when you say “closer to a city”? Are you simply looking for the ability to go into the city here and there, or are you looking to be right in the middle of one?
Lehigh has a Business and Computer Science program which is collaboration between the two schools and, I believe, unique. The main downside is the town which is just okay but not a great college town. Realistically, most students don’t get off campus as much as they think they will so it’s important to have a vibrant campus community.
These aren’t really “my tips”, but consider:
-Size
-Activities
-Location
-Housing
-Facilities
