Finance and Computer Science

I really want to major in Computer Science and Finance, I know it take a lot of effort to do an engineering major, but is it possible to do a double major for both, without having an insane work schedule? If I were to pick just one major, I
d probably do CS, so is it possible to minor in Finance? I looked at some of the college lists and none of them have Finance minors but I heard of people doing it. Also, what are the top colleges that have both an undergrad Finance and CS major?

Obviously this depends on where you go.
Some colleges have two options for their computer science major, where one has more open electives than the other and it’s easier to double major. I go to Case Western Reserve University and they have a B.A. in computer science in addition to the regular B.S. degree. (Remember that the meaning of “B.A.” varies from school to school.)

What college lists?

Probably most of them? Finance is usually part of the business school at a university, so if a college doesn’t have a business school they probably won’t have a finance major.

I would try bigger schools maybe, but yeah it’s probably quite common to offer both majors. Rutgers is one that I personally am interested in doing that double major in, and I have confirmed with them that it is doable and allowed.

I tried the UCs, UMich, and other big places like that. Carnegie Mellon is the only place I found with both of them.

The University of Michigan seems to offer an undergraduate degree in finance. (Some universities require that you apply directly to the business school or the college of engineering, though. I imagine it’s harder to double major at some schools than others.)

Look into financial engineering as well, some ivies offer it/other top schools and it’s basically the double major equivalent.
