1a) In terms of consulting Columbia is probably #5-8 after H, P, Y, Wharton
b) In terms of i-banking columbia is #3-8 after Harvard and Wharton
c) in terms of general financial positions: wealth management + trading + hedge fund analyst + research + banking + pe/vc, I would put Columbia 3-5.

2) Historically Chicago has been better than Columbia at economics, today I’d say they are nearly even (even though the rankings disagree), this is in terms of grad school programs and strength of departmental faculty. As an undergrad you will receive a comprehensive education at both schools. As someone who has effectively taken an economics major worth of econ classes, I can attest that columbia’s undergrad econ program is spectacular. It definitely matches the rigor of any top school’s program, many of my most fun, memorable and insightful professors have been econ.
