Finance, for the above-avg student

I know posts come up asking for finance schools, but these people usually have great stats. I know Wharton, etc. are great for finance. But I don't have stats to get in there. I want to get into a good Finance program and hopefully after a year or two transfer into a much better program. However, if all transfers fail, I want to have a good Finance program behind me.

What I want from a school:
-Good Finance Program
-Urban/Suburban Location
-Good Recruiting(Big well known finance companies)
-Religious is not a problem, at all. But neither is a very liberal campus.

Now, for my stats.
White Catholic Male
New York State Resident
GPA: 3.4-3.5 Unweighted GPA(No honors or AP Classes offered)
1850-1900 SAT(based off prac tests- say 550m 650v 650w-this is close to what i got last time)
No SATIIs
4 Years Basketball Team(Not good enough for recruiting)
Boys State

My Current List:
School: Fordham University
Major: Finance
Type: Hard Match?
SAT 25-75%: 1740-2000(On the high side)
Percent Accepted: 50%
Choice: #1 Choice

School: Manhattan College
Major: Finance
Type: Safety?
SAT 25-75%:
Percent Accepted: 57%
Choice: #3 Choice

School: Bentley College
Major: Finance
Type: High Match/Reach
SAT 25-75%: 1760-1970
Percent Accepted: 43%
Choice: #2 Choice

Thanks for any help.

bump,bump,bump

Good choices for urban/suburban. Try to get you math sat score up by 100 points and you might get some merit money at your match/reaches. Also, make sure you have financial safeties.

How about adding Northeastern, and a couple of state schools to your list. If you are from NY, you might consider Sunys- Bing, Buffalo, Albany

Thanks for good post. bump.

Here's one you probably haven't thought of. St. John Fisher College in Rochester.

http://www.sjfc.edu/bittner/index.asp

weenie, This looks like an interesting school. Do you know more about it? I know someone who applied there, LeMoyne, LaSalle, Franklin Pierce, Quinnipiac and a couple of others for business. He ended up selecting Quinnipiac.

St. John Fisher College looks like it might be a relative bargain with a merit a scholarship.

I live in Rochester, and lots of kids from here go there. I think it is a great bargain school! It's a pretty campus, and they seem to have good momentum. They just started a Pharmacy degree too (funded by Wegmans). Kids seem to really like St. John Fisher and I know two really wonderful people on staff there.

Is this an affiliated school?

I'm sorry...affiliated with what? :)

I meant affiliated with a particular religion.

Oh. Yes, it's Catholic, under the Congregation of St. Basil.
