Hi, I was admitted to CSOM and I’ll probably be majoring in Finance. Would it be practical for me to also major in History? How difficult would it be, if it’s even possible?

World History 5
US History 4
English comp 4
Chemistry 5
vv—approximation—vv
Physics 5
Calc AB 5
US Govt 4/5
English lit 4

The thing that they kept reiterating at the CSOM presentation on Eagle Day was follow your interests, and definitely major/minor in whatever it is that appeals to you, even if it is not in the biz school.

Double majors are possible, but it just takes some planning with the Core requirements. The more Core classes that you can fulfill by AP credits, allows you more flexibility with electives. But AP courses will not replace major requirements, so your AP History credits will be of no value. The Chem-5 will fulfill the science requirement of the Core, fore example. A 4+ on AP Lit and you will have fulfilled the College’s writing requirement (with the 4 on Comp Lit).

A typical major is 10 courses. Two majors = 20 (+a prereq or two). You need 38 courses to graduate.
