I graduated undergrad in '09 and took a job at an investment bank to get established financially. Now, I'd like to go back to school to get a masters in Human Development (a program like this: Human Development and Psychology)
My concern is that I have no direct experience in the field.

In undergrad, I majored in international studies and business at an Ivy League school. I did research for finance, acct, and mgmt professors all four years. My GPA and GRE scores are good. So I think my application is generally strong, except for the fact that I dont come from a social sciences background and have not done work in human development.

How common is it to apply for a masters as a career change? What can I do, if anything, to compensate for having a finance/business background?

Thanks!
