I'm having a bit of a conundrum here. I'm torn between double majoring in Finance and MIS or just majoring in Finance and picking up a Computer Science minor. I want something with my education that's tech savvy because it's the future, and I also enjoy computers and how they work. I also enjoy business and the aspect of managing money, hence Finance.
I'm interested in the computer aspect of MIS, but people on forums say MIS is sort of a joke major compared to the Computer Science major, and nearly any employer will take a CS major over a MIS major because the rules of business are easier to teach than the advanced stuff that comes with CS.
My question is, essentially, what would look better on a job application for, say, an IT manager? (Assuming career achievements, etc. are nearly even for both people) A dual major with MIS, or a CS minor?
Thanks in advance.
