Finance or marketing

Hi guys. I’m currently am a finance and marketing double major but am worried that the extra semester needed for my double major may put me over my financial aid limit. I’m the event that it does I will need to chhose between the two. I love both subjects and wouldn’t mind a job in either field . My goal is to become a retail buyer one day or a finance or sales manager . I do plan to get my MBA and would like to know which major would be best if I can only chose one? Can I go into marketing with a finance degree? Or the other way around

Either could work. Buyers deal with budgets/numbers, so that would point to finance over marketing, even though identifying market trends is a key skill. So in my view, 2/3 of your career goals favor the type of skill set you’d get with finance. If you are much better in one field or much happier, I’d go with that one. If no preference, finance. I’m sure you’ve already taken a few courses in each, so it’s not like you’re totally lacking in knowledge in one area.

Second Dunboyne. Easier to get marketing jobs with a finance major and harder to get finance jobs with a marketing major.

I’d go for finance. I think it’s more marketable (pun intended) than marketing.
