Hey guys!

I was just wondering if anyone knew what requirements companies such as Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, and Smith Barney are looking for as far as a FA trainee.

I go to a top 15 Finance school and I know last year we had 15 people sign on with Merrill Lynch, 16 to Morgan Stanley, and 12 to Smith Barney. I am very interested in Financial Advising and didn't want to get a degree and just go out there willy nilly. I was contemplating getting involved in Wealth Management for a couple years, then get my CFA, then find some firm to work for as an advisor. Recently though I have heard that those three firms listed up top have great training programs and actually offer a pretty decent salary for trainees ($40,000+).

Just wanted to know if anyone had an advice or info about the training. I especially want to know if I had to go to New York (not a fan at all) to go to train.

Thanks for any help!
