I just read another thread posted about generous financial aid programs at different schools. I too am in a sort of predicament, I really want to go to a top tier school but I know my mother cant afford it (shes a single parent) and I know scholarships are harder to get (Then say art scholarships, my sister got 65k worth of those). My mothers income is just under 100k, we dont own a house and she doesnt have any savings (just 401k) if that matters.

Me:
I'm considered black, I plan on graduating valedictorian, with a 5.2 or 5.3 weighted GPA (out of 6.0). I plan on getting SAT scores 2100+ (and I think I can get up and past the 700s on each test... as long as I study a lot harder for this on. I think I can manage a close to perfect on the math portion, though I really have to work at my reading portion...) . 4.0 unweighted GPA.

First gen college student, single mom like I said, left handed, vegetarian. Any tips on schools with really generous financial aid and possibly some scholarships? I'm a sophomore right now, but I really want a goal in mind (a college or two to set my eyes on, or a scholarship to work towards)
