Financial aid and a male advantage?

<p>I have two completely different yet pressing questions about Georgetown:</p>

<ol>
<li><p>How is the financial aid? My family will get screwed over with financial aid at most schools because we have a ~$100,000 income although this isn't all that it seems- we live in NJ (ridiculously high taxes) and just sent two older siblings through college. Does Georgetown give merit based aid? If so, how strong is it?</p></li>
<li><p>Looking at Georgetown's data, I notice that the student body is 54% female and 46% male. I may be grasping at straws, but does this give males any (slight) advantage in admissions?</p></li>

<li><p>Not as good as many peer schools, but somewhat random. There’s no way to know but trying.</p></li>
<li><p>No male advantage. There is such a thing at some schools where the ratio is 50-50 because there are a slightly higher number of qualified females applying to college. Thus, if you want a 50-50 ratio, you have to favor males ever so slightly. Georgetown’s 54-56 ratio shows that they aren’t doing this.</p></li>
