Financial aid and early decision (at Emory)

I was wondering if the average financial aid given to students who apply early is higher than students who apply regular decision. Emory is my top choice but I'm unsure of if I should apply early next year. I know it has all the attributes that I want in the college. However, I am unsure about being bound to a school that might not help me out as much as I would like with financial aid

If you rely on financial aid to pay for college, you should not be applying early decision.

One never truly knows, which is why those who need or want aid should not apply ED. However, Emory is a school that seems to do well in making sure their ED candidates and all need candidates are well treated. However, for merit, and Emory does have their scholars program, most schools use those such awards to entice kids to come. Since you are already committed there is no reason to give you the enticement. That’s where an ED person could lose out.
