financial aid and recommendation letter

To get financial aid at Princeton, is it mandatory to write an essay? (does it significantly affect my chance of admission or receiving a financial aid?) What if the tax report already shows my financial status and I have nothing else to talk about it?
If the essay is required, what should I write about!!!!!!
sorry about rambling..lol

Also, how does Princeton process the recommendation letter that are submitted before students submit their applications?
Thanks

wait, you have to write an essay for finan aid?

yes, towards the end, it says to talk about why you need a financial aid

Are you sure, rupang? Where is the line in the application that says write an essay to talk about why you need a financial aid? I don't think I have seen it. The application only asks you to check a box if you want to apply for FA

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no not on THE application, but the FINANCIAL AID application..
my bad...
it's the website that goes off from Princeton main website...
it says..:
"Use the area below to provide additional information you think is relevant to your application for financial aid.
For example, you might give more detail about family income or other items from the application,
or describe a special circumstance that affects your family's finances. If your parent is single or widowed, or you are applying as a self-supporting student, you must give additional information about your situation"
thx

phew. that gave me a scare. pton's 3 essays are quite enough.

wow,...i just realize I had been writing 6 supp essays for pton (including b.s.e, additional info and financial aid)
