Financial Aid at BU?

Does anyone have experience with financial aid at BU? I would need a fairly substantial amount in order to attend, and I want to know if getting a decent amount of money is possible before I start applying. Thanks

The amount you get is based on your academics and your need. If you have a high need and a high GPA/SAT score then you should be fine.

I’m probably an average applicant to BU (27 ACT, 3.2 GPA), so I’m assuming I wouldn’t get that much money. (if any)

I think focusing on admission should be your priority. Otherwise, its need based aid with merit influencing how much you will get.

Well, you can take a look at this: [Boston University - Office of Financial Assistance - Applying for Financial Aid](http://www.bu.edu/finaid/apply/incoming_probability.html)
Doesn’t say much, but if you haven’t looked at it, you should. It provides an estimate of the amount of aid that people with comparable academics and financial circumstances get, and an estimate of how likely it is for you to get it.

Also, just wanted to mention that it’s the middle 50% that they’ve shown here - I’m in the first column, first row, and I’m getting a bit more than the upper limit for the middle 50% of the total aid package. My SAT, however, is somewhere in the middle - 2100.
