Financial Aid at Columbia

<p>I got my financial aid award from Columbia yesterday. They are giving me $37,000 in loans and want me to pay the remaining $15,000.</p>

<p>What about grants??? I figured they'd give me atleast a grant to help chip away at the HUGE costs of attending Columbia. Any suggestions? Should I call the Financial Aid office and request a second look?</p>

<p>I think they've over estimated, but they do that on purpose I suppose. Tuition is $998 per credit. so about $30,000 for a years worth of classes. Plus living costs, which they estimate at about $14,000 (hopefully overcompensating)</p>
