Financial Aid at Notre Dame

Notre Dame has been my dream school for years and I just got accepted! I am ecstatic, however financial aid is going to play a huge part in whether or not I am able to attend. Does anyone know the average undergrad tuition after financial aid? Or are there any specific scholarships I can apply for? Thank you!

also when does financial aid info come out for REA?

My son received his financial aid notification on March 29th of this year and he was REA for the 2020 class

My daughter received hers sometime earlier in March and she was REA for the 2019 class. @mango456, it was a long wait for us, as financial aid was the determining factor for her. Luckily, ND was very generous. I don’t think there are any specific scholarships you can apply for at ND. I hope your FA allows you to attend. It’s a great school. Go Irish!

Congratulations!!! I don’t know about FA at ND, but my husband and I are alumni and my oldest son wants to apply next year. It is his first choice school. So happy for you that you got into your dream school. Go Irish!! Way back my sister did work study in the dining hall and was a resident advisor at ND as well.

We have one already in college, ND FA was way more generous than we expected. Total cost was 10K less than what the websites Net price calculator stated. We are north of 200K yearly income

My son is a senior at ND and his ability to attend also depended on financial aid. ND is very generous and the amount of aid increased each year (it kept up with the rise in tuition). With our income he would have only qualified for loans at most other schools. We paid less each year than the net price calculator. I hope you are able to attend. ND is a very special place!

Our financial aid was more generous than the net price calculator as well.

Please be aware that the net price calculator is only estimating the “University Scholarship”.

In addition there is a also a “Provost Scholarship” that is technically a need based scholarship, but it has a merit component. Only those applicants determined to be in financial need are eligible. If you are in need, you will automatically be considered, as there is no separate application process.

Also, I believe most local chapters of the ND Alumni Club raise funds for scholarships for students from their area, although this will not appear on the original award letter, it is usually added later.

I believe most people will be surprised by the financial aid award when all is said and done.

Had a minor heart attack when there was a large letter for my son in today’s mail - it was just a brochure from admissions about the generous financial aid. He applied regular decision

Why don’t you go onto the web and look up Notre Dame’s net price calculator?
