so i read about how stanford gives a lot of money even to students whose family income is like 100,000. (The Parent Contribution : Stanford University)
but does that also apply to international students?

I’m not sure if the 60K/100K deals that US people get is true for international students or not, i could find out pretty quick though. However, stanford is definitely not need-blind for international students, so if you apply for aid as an international student it is considered by the admissions committee. But then, if you are admitted, Stanford does meet 100% need, which makes me think that your financial aid would be fine if you got in. Stanford, in general is really good about financial aid (and I started a couple years before the 60K/100K stuff started).

great! thanks.

hey do you guys know if it’s need-blind for transfers as well? my guess is that it would be but i’m not really sure…

I’m pretty sure thats true, it’d be worth a quick phone call to the financial aid office though

Yes, it applies to international students. However, that doesn’t mean that Stanford is need-blind for internationals. That just means that if an international student does get in, his/her financial aid will be based on Stanford’s normal policies. Although Stanford is need-aware for internationals, it does admit a great many international students who do require financial aid (in fact, all of my international friends are on financial aid, that I know of).

great! thanks. that helped a lot.
