Hey everybody,

I am an incoming transfer to UR and would love to go alot! But, being that it costs $42k/yr. to go, I am worried a bit. Their new financial aid system is such that "100% of need will be met for incoming students"...However, how much need is usually determined and how does financial aid flunctuate over the remaining years there?...I haven't received my offer yet, so how has everyone else's packages been?...How is fin-aid at UR is what I'm asking....I don't want to go for first year and then financial aid disappears and I can't attend...

I'm going as a freshman... and when they say they meet 100% of need they mean it... I got a scholarship that covers 2/3 tuition... and then with financial aid, I'm not paying anything, I actually have more than enough to cover books and stuff. The University itself gave me something like a $15,000 UR grant I think. But at the same time, I've met some people who still aren't going cuz their packages are full of loans they don't want to have to repay... a friend of mine who didn't get the scholarship got about a $18,000-$20,000 package I think, but of course that still leave like $20,000 for her to cover... but that's about all I can tell you... someone else can probably help u more... but hope I helped... o yea... I've also heard that in the past some students felt that they couldn't attend UR the next year because of the cost but after talking to the Financial aid dept. they were able to works something out so they were able to stay... ok, hope that helps. also u can always get a job on campus... like the library where u pretty much get paid to study...

Anybody mind just posting specific figures like how much your need was and how much they gave in gift aid and then loans...Only if you don't mind...

Anybody just get need-based aid that covered alot of your need?...
