Financial Aid at Wesleyan vs. Other Top LACs?

I'm considering applying ED to Wes this fall, but I'm a bit concerned about financial aid. I plan to talk to the financial aid office to get an unofficial estimate based on my family's finances, but I thought I'd ask here, too. Do upper-middle classers tend to get enough aid at Wesleyan?
Also, I'm curious if there are similar schools that are known for great aid.
Is the aid at Wellesley any better? Or tufts, Conn college, or Smith?

Thanks in advance!

Stop starting the same thread… you already have a question on this. Add to that one if you want to get more info.

These schools all, have net price calculators on their websites. How about running your family financials,on those. They will give you a good estimate of potential need based financial aid.

The NPCs will not be accurate if the parents are divorced, family owns a business, either parent is self employed, or if the family owns real estate other than the primary residence.

If you have straightforward w-2 income, the net price calculators will at least give you a good estimate.

What do you consider “upper middle class income”? Your family WILL be expected to pay their calculated family contribution. Need based aid determination is primarily income based.

ETA…those schools all say they meet full need for all…except Wes. They came put with a statement last year saying they would meet need for MOST but not all.

Wes does say that they meet full demonstrated need right on their website. Also, my family does own a business and my mom is self-employed.

Well…perhaps Wesleyan will give you an early read.

Just be aware that some deductions allowed by the IRS for self employed can be added back as income for financial aid purposes. Ditto for owned businesses.
