Can anyone view their financial aid offers on ESTHER? For me it says Century Scholalrship + Trustee Scholarship under the Award Overview tab for Award Package for Award Year 2010 - 2011. Is this for real? Or is this some generic info message?

That’s fabulous! Congratulations!

Thanks! I really really really hope this isn’t a fluke…

I got the same as you. Have you done research before? That’s the pre-req for the Century scholarship

Yep I did some research over the summer at the Yale School of Medicine.

Yeah, I got trustee. Is that it, though? I got:

Rice Tuition Grant
Texas Equalization Grant
Trustee Scholarship

… is that all the finaid we get? Cus it’s still not close enough ;X

Hmm… does anyone know why I’m not able to view my financial aid offer on Esther? All my documents have been received for the last couple months, so that shouldn’t have been a problem.

" No award information is available for you at this time, please contact the Office of Financial Aid if you have questions. Below is a summary of important key factors that can affect awards: "

I have this as well. I hope they just haven’t updated it yet :(

I received the trustee and the century which is more than enough, considering the fact that my family’s shot at need-based financial aid is almost non-existent. Yes, I’ve done a lot of research too but like plum said I really hope this isn’t some fluke…

Hey fellas go to financial aid and check requirements and make sure they’re all met. Just found out I have to send proof of citizenship :X

Under Award History, I’ve got the Trustee Scholarship - is the number beside it (amount) per year or 4 years or what?

Does anyone know why some of us don’t have a financial aid tab and can’t check? Congrats to everybody who got a scholarship, but it’s very frustrating to see everyone else getting this information but we can’t even find athe tab.

Delos- Click on “Office of Financial aid” on the homepage. Then, scroll down and click on award status. Then there are two options “Award for aid year” and “Award History”. Award history I believe records scholarships, etc.

I got Trustee, some Texas grant, and 2.5k “Rice Tuition Grant”, which totals 24k/year – leaving us to pay 24k/year, when our EFC is 21k. Not enough for me to attend by a long shot – though I don’t think I was going to, anyway, so hopefully someone gets off the waitlist because of me ;]

I just received an email saying that I’m not eligible for any financial aid… which is strange, because my family’s EFC is definitely not anywhere near $47,000.

Handiman, I’m sorry, but I don’t understand. Do you mean the Esther home page or the Rice home page. There’s no “Office of Financial Aid” link onthe Esther home page.

Delos- Once you successfully log in to ESTHER, the first page you should see is titled “Main Menu.” One this page you should three links one of which should be Office of financial aid. To clarify, this is only observable once you have logged in to ESTHER.

We just don’t have that link even after we log in to Esther. Is there any way you could copy and past the link to the Financial Aid office here so that once we are logged in to Esther we can try to use it? Thanks. This is so frustrating.

I only have two links… i do not have that fin. aid link. If i don’t have that financial aid link, does it mean I’m not getting any money? :

Here is the link from my account to the Office of Financial aid section https://webapps2.rice.edu/selfserve/twbkwbis.P_GenMenu?name=bmenu.P_FAApplStuMnu

I don’t know if it will work due to account specificity, but it might.
