<p>Has anyone heard about financial aid from UMD yet? will letters come in soon? </p>
<p>i really NEED this, my parents wont let me stay in dorms if i dont get aid :O</p>
<p>Nothing yet. However, via the Testudo financial aid links, we did find out that we were selected for verification....we had to send in copies of our 2008 taxes, as well as 4 verification forms. D set up her UMD logon in order to set up a SID and password. That's where the online "letter" will be, and where you would accept any offers for grants, loans, etc.</p>
<p>We sent everything in, with delivery confirmation, so I know it was delivered to UMD on 2/25. As of today, the status said they are still waiting for the forms....I'm assuming they have a backlog of getting everything entered, but I'm going to follow-up on Friday if it still doesn't show as received.</p>
<p>We weren't expecting to hear anything from financial aid until the end of the month, at least.</p>
<p>Logging on to my D's testudo page, it says.</p>
<p>"The aid listed under 'My Awards' only reflects aid being received from other resources. We will send you an e-mail when your total aid package is available or you may continue to check this website for changes. "</p>
<p>So, I am guessing wait patiently for the email</p>

<p>@astro - They logged only ONE item that we sent in for some reason (we sent them all at once).. I don't know what they're doing..</p>
<p>I emailed them today (via the contact us link on Testudo financials page). They got back to me pretty quickly....tracked down everything we mailed to them (doing the usps delivery confirmation was a good thing!) except one form that older D sent via campus mail. I'll just have her take another copy over to them if it doesn't show up in a couple of days. Atlee, they make it obvious if you have to send in anything (with wording like, all work on your financial aid app will stop until we receive these forms!). Plus, I think they sent emails to both D's, too.</p>
<p>If you were flagged for verification how soon do you need to do your 2008 taxes if you haven;t done them yet? Is that all you need?</p>
<p>I didn't ask them, because we had ours finished. I'd assume the sooner the better, if you are expecting to get need-based aid. If you're in this position, I'd call them ASAP. Perhaps they'll take W2s, etc., but I don't know.</p>
<p>I asked today at open house and the financial aid office person said that we would find out by april 1st</p>
