Financial aid Award Letter? i just mine today

hey guys i just got my financial aid letter from Rutgers today
im kinda confused?

these are the awards I got:

FEDERAL PELL GRANT
ACADEMIC COMPETITIVENESS GRANT
ESTIMATED NJ TAG
FED SUPP EDUC OPPORTUNITY GRANT
FEDERAL PERKINS LOAN
FEDERAL WORK STUDY PROGRAM
RUTGERS ASSISTANCE GRANT
FEDERAL DIRECT LOAN-SUBSIDIZED
FEDERAL DIRECT LOAN-UNSUBSIDIZED

the total amount came out to be in the 20,000 range...
heres my question?

are these all money I can use to reduce my tuition?
or is this actually my tuition for a year?

The total is the amount of money that will go up against your cost.

Add up all the dollars on the award. Subtract that from your costs and the difference is the balance you need to come up with.

Note that grants are money you don’t have to pay back. Loans are money you do. Federal Work study is paid directly to you (it is generally not applied directly to tuition). You are eligible to earn up to this amount, but there is no guarantee that you will.
