Financial Aid Award Release Question

Does anyone know when they release award amounts? I'm a rising sophomore and I sent in my FAFSA form/Copy of Tax Return/Etc. in early March/late February and have not heard a reply.

it should be in your online financial aid CASH history by now.

well it’s not and i’m getting kind of worried…

Have you checked “What Do I Need to Complete” from the menu in the top left corner of the “CASH: Check Aid Status Here” page? As long as UT has your FAFSA info, and you weren’t selected for verification, relax -you’ll likely be awarded fairly soon.

Pell amounts were just changed a few weeks ago, so schools across the country are waiting on updates to their financial aid software so they can complete awarding for 1011. Everyone is on hold until the updates are complete. Some students may have been awarded in March, but Pell-eligible students will see changes. The good news though, is that the max EFC for Pell has been raised from 4617 to 5273.

Some schools are manually awarding students right now, but that would be tough for a school as large as UT.

Two weeks later, Still haven’t heard or received my financial aid information. Should I call the office tomorrow?

I think at this point I would call the office…the worst they can tell you is wait a while longer. But if they tell you there is a glitch of some kind and you can help sort it out, you will have that information sooner. My vote is to be proactive at this stage of the game. Most of the financial aid (excepting some scholarships) has been communicated. If you haven’t heard anything one way or another then you have a reasonable inquiry.
