i'm an international accepted to CAS. do you know if there is any way that information on financial aid award can be obtained online (e.g. any of the cornell admitted student websites/blogs) or do we have to wait for the snail mail?

Was thinking about the same thing until I noticed on the admitted students’ page that the FA award comes with the large packet via snail mail. I’m not expecting a large amount though, just something to sweeten my acceptance.

^ehh i’m so nervous about this. my fafsa hasn’t “processed” through correctly. i’m worried that a delay in this will minimize my aid!

Ugh I really hope Cornell is generous with its FA towards a canadian lol… =/

i got mine in an email even before i had a chance to view my decision on their online system which was difficult to access due to network usage of so many (class of 2013).

Please please please. I need lots of finaid. International going to arts and sciences

I’m sorry to say this people, but I just got an email from Cornell, saying:

This means, it seems, many internationals may be accepted without financial aid.

I don’t care much, I’ve already got HYS and Columbia. But just wanted to let you know, so all intl’s check your inboxes ;).

No aid! How am I suppose to pay the 50K tuition when my family income is 50K before taxes.

Yes, if you are an international too, that is pretty pathetic from them.

Hope you have other viable choices! :)

@ the pakalypse…

not sure where cornell finaid policy stands…but i thought canadians and mexicans got full need?

I got the same email telling me I can’t have FinAid~hmm

the lack of financial aid for internationals was probably a result of the recession…

sorry guys. i hope you were able to get into your top national universities!

^Not anymore. Until now, Cornell had financial aid money set aside solely for Canandian and Mexican applicants. Starting with the class that enters in Fall 2010, that money will now be put in a pool for all international students who are awarded aid.

It’s explained more clearly in the FA office announcements:

thank you for that dewdrop! i guess they figure the only canadians that matter are the ones who are already recruited for hockey ;)

so is anyone not going to cornell going anymore due to the lack of fa? lol
